Plant Care Basic Root by Dennerle is a universal clay-based slow-release fertiliser in the form of nutrient balls. The fertiliser has been specially developed for aquarium plants that absorb nutrients through their roots. Root fertiliser has a positive effect on both new plantings and older, established plants.
Root fertiliser for new plantings
It can take some time for newly introduced plants to get used to their new surroundings and adapt to the new soil and water conditions. Using the nutrient balls promotes vigorous growth from the start! The nutrient balls contain iron and other vital trace elements that support root formation which is necessary for the plant to anchor itself firmly in the substrate.
Root fertiliser for older, established plants
Very often, the substrate is not included and neglected as part of regular aquarium maintenance. Over time, it loses important nutrients which can result in various growth disorders. If foliage fertilisation no longer helps, the entire substrate must be regenerated. The Basic Root fertiliser replenishes the substrate with important nutrients and builds up reserves for the future.
Dosage recommendation:
Press 1-4 nutrient balls into the root zone of the plants.
